1000 lb General Purpose Dolly

The Value Brand 48J072 is an open-deck wood dolly rated for a 1000 lb load capacity. It measures 30 in long, 18 in wide and stands 7 in high. The deck uses Populus wood with a textured surface and flush ends. A centre opening of 18 1/8 in by 11 1/2 in runs through the platform. A strap securing mechanism helps keep items in place during transport.

Suited for Heavy Flat Loads

This dolly suits warehouses, workshops or job sites that move bulky, flat-bottomed items such as crates, sheet goods or machinery bases. The 1000 lb rating and textured deck give grip and strength for those tasks. It is not for loads that exceed the rated capacity, for uneven or rounded objects that need cradling, or for applications requiring powered lift or steering.

Capacity and Limits

The 1000 lb capacity handles pallets, stacked boxes and heavy equipment within the 30 in by 18 in deck area. The 7 in deck height keeps the centre of gravity low for stability on smooth floors. The open centre opening reduces weight but means small parts can fall through. Wood construction will absorb moisture over time, so prolonged outdoor exposure reduces service life.

Questions about this item

What deck dimensions must my load fit within to sit on this 30 in by 18 in platform?

The open deck measures 30 inches long by 18 inches wide, so any item placed on it should not exceed those dimensions.

Will the 7 in deck height and 1000 lb capacity match the clearance and weight rating of my existing hand truck?

This dolly sits 7 inches high and supports up to 1000 pounds; compare those figures with your hand truck’s lift height and load rating.

How can I confirm the poplar wood deck and flush lip are holding the rated load without flex?

Load the dolly to its 1000 lb limit and check that the poplar deck remains level and the flush lip shows no bending or cracking.
