Universal Thermostat Guard

The Value Brand 4E650 is a universal thermostat guard designed to protect wall-mounted HVAC controls in commercial and residential settings. It features a double-wall plastic construction with an off-white finish on the cover, base, and ring. The snap-on cover secures with two included keys to prevent unauthorized adjustment. Mounting hardware and a baseplate are supplied for horizontal or vertical installation.

Suited for exposed thermostats

This guard suits facilities managers and building owners who need to shield thermostats from accidental impact, tampering, or vandalism in hallways, warehouses, or public areas. The solid ring base and double-wall design provide a physical barrier while allowing airflow to the sensor. Buyers who require a transparent cover to view settings without opening the guard should look at alternative models, as this unit uses an opaque off-white plastic cover.

Fits standard control units

The inside dimensions of 8 3/8 inches high, 5 7/8 inches wide, and 3 inches deep accommodate many common thermostat bodies. The snap-on cover allows quick access for authorized personnel during maintenance or programming. Included mounting hardware and baseplate simplify attachment to standard junction boxes or wall surfaces, freeing the installer from sourcing separate fasteners. The horizontal or vertical mounting orientation adapts to existing wiring routes.

Questions about this item

What mounting hardware comes in the box so I can install the guard without buying extra screws?

The package includes the mounting hardware and a baseplate, so you can fasten the ring-base guard to the wall straight away.

Will the snap-on cover still fit if my thermostat is mounted vertically instead of horizontally?

Yes, the guard is designed for horizontal or vertical mounting and the snap-on cover secures the same way in either orientation.

How can I check that the double-wall construction is properly seated after I snap the cover on?

Press the cover until it clicks into the ring base; the off-white finish on the cover, base and ring should line up with no visible gaps.
