1-Inch Class 150 Union

The Value Brand 5P593 union connects two 1-inch female NPT threads in a malleable-iron body rated for Class 150 service. It suits installers who need a removable joint on low-pressure piping systems.

Sustained-pressure integrity

Malleable iron maintains its seal under continuous Class 150 pressure without the relaxation seen in short-term test spikes. The straight NPT threads engage fully to resist leakage during long duty cycles.

Malleable iron and NPT threads

The iron construction resists cracking when the joint is tightened or vibrated in service. Female NPT ends allow direct assembly onto male-threaded pipe without extra adapters, simplifying field installation.

Questions about this item

How much heat does the 1 in NPT malleable iron union generate when installed in a hot water line?

The union itself produces no heat; it simply conducts the temperature of the fluid passing through it.

What pipe and sealant must I already have to thread this 1 in Female NPT fitting?

You need 1 in male NPT pipe threads on both sides and a compatible thread sealant or tape rated for Class 150 service.

Will the 11 1/2 threads per inch on this union match the older galvanised fittings I plan to keep?

Yes, 11 1/2 TPI is the standard NPT pitch for 1 in pipe, so it will engage existing NPT threads of the same size.
