Rigid plate caster for heavy carts

This rigid plate caster supports a 600 lb load rating with a four inch polyurethane wheel on a polyolefin core. It is built for wheelbarrows, garden carts and similar yard equipment that need a fixed direction wheel. The non marking tread protects paved surfaces while the rigid design keeps travel straight. Buyers replacing a single worn caster on a utility cart will find a direct fit.

Check axle and plate dimensions before ordering

Verify that the mounting plate bolt pattern matches the existing holes on your cart or wheelbarrow frame. Confirm the axle diameter and overall height so the new caster sits level with the other wheels. The rigid design means the wheel does not swivel, so ensure your chassis is built for a fixed wheel at this position. No brake or swivel lock is included with this unit.

Polyurethane tread on polyolefin core

The polyurethane tread resists chunking and rolls smoothly over gravel, grass and concrete without leaving marks. The polyolefin core adds strength while keeping the assembly light enough for manual handling. With no brake or swivel lock mechanism there are fewer moving parts to maintain or corrosion points to seize. California Proposition 65 notices apply to chemicals in the materials.

Questions about this item

Does the rigid plate caster come with mounting hardware or do I need to buy bolts separately?

The caster ships as a single wheel unit without bolts, nuts or washers; you will need to supply four mounting fasteners that match the plate hole pattern.

Should I choose the 600 lb load rating or a different capacity for a heavy garden cart?

The 600 lb rating is the only capacity offered for this 4 in polyurethane wheel, so select it if your cart and load combined stay at or below that figure.

What does the 600 lb load rating mean when the caster is bolted under a loaded wheelbarrow?

It indicates the maximum weight the caster can support continuously on a smooth, level surface; uneven terrain, shock loads or side forces will reduce the safe working limit.
