Value Brand Mesh Tarp 12 x 24 ft

This green polyethylene mesh tarp measures 12 by 24 feet finished size with a 10 mil thickness. It features brass grommets spaced 24 inches apart and single-stitched seams. The fabric weight is 5.8 ounces per square yard. It is rated standard duty for general purpose coverage.

Suits open-air shielding not full waterproofing

The material is mildew resistant tear resistant and UV resistant but offers no water resistance or waterproofing. Buyers needing a solid water barrier should look at a different tarp type. The mesh construction allows airflow so it will not trap moisture against covered items. It is not insulated and not high visibility.

10 mil thickness sets the durability level

At 10 mil thick with a standard duty rating this tarp handles light to moderate exposure to sun wind and debris. Heavier loads sharp edges or long term outdoor use may require a thicker heavy duty tarp. The polyethylene fabric resists tearing and UV damage within its rated class. California Proposition 65 warnings apply for cancer and reproductive harm.

Questions about this item

How often will the brass grommets need replacing on this 12 x 24 ft mesh tarp?

The brass grommets are spaced every 24 in along the single-stitched seams; they resist corrosion but may need replacement if the polyethylene fabric tears around them.

What is the first limit you hit when this tarp is under sustained wind load?

The 10 mil polyethylene fabric is rated standard duty with tear-resistant and UV-resistant properties, so prolonged high wind will stress the single-stitched seams before the material itself fails.

How much heat builds up under the green mesh when it is left in full sun all day?

The green polyethylene is UV resistant and mildew resistant but not insulated, so solar heat passes through the breathable mesh rather than trapping it underneath.
