Open Poly Bags for Shipping

These 18 by 8 inch clear bags come in a 1000 pack and are made from 1.5 mil low-density polyethylene. They suit mailrooms, fulfilment centres and small businesses that need a simple open-top bag for lightweight items.

Replacing Thinner or Smaller Bags

The 1.5 mil thickness gives more tear resistance than lighter gauge films, while the 18 inch length accommodates longer products without folding. Switch when your current bags split under load or leave too much empty space around the contents.

Easy Open-Top Loading

No heat sealer or adhesive is required — just drop the item in and fold or tape the top shut. The flat bottom keeps the bag stable on packing benches. The only common issue is overfilling beyond the 18 inch seal length, which can cause the opening to gape.

Questions about this item

What are the exact dimensions of these poly bags?

Each bag measures 18 inches long by 8 inches wide with a thickness of 1.5 mil.

How do I properly seal the open top of these bags for shipping?

Use a heat sealer, tape, or twist tie across the 18-inch open top; the most common mistake is leaving a gap that lets contents shift out.

Will the 1.5 mil material hold up for long-term storage without tearing?

The low-density polyethylene resists punctures for typical use; replace any bag that shows stress whitening or small tears to keep contents protected.
