Rigid Plate Caster Iron 3-1/4 in 700 lb

This rigid plate caster uses a cast-iron wheel to support loads up to 700 lb. The non-marking tread protects floors while the iron construction resists wear in yard and workshop settings. It mounts with a standard plate and includes no brake or swivel lock. Buyers needing a complete swivel set or integrated braking should look elsewhere.

Capacity and headroom

The 700 lb load rating provides headroom for heavy wheelbarrows, carts and equipment dollies. A single caster handles this weight; four together multiply the total capacity accordingly. The 3-1/4 in diameter wheel rolls over rough surfaces but can struggle on deep gravel or soft ground where a larger diameter would help.

Replaces worn iron casters

This caster replaces damaged or worn rigid iron wheels on existing wheelbarrows and carts. The jump is worthwhile when the old wheel tread is flattened, the core is cracked or the mounting plate is bent. It is not a direct fit for swivel-only mounting patterns or for applications that require a built-in brake mechanism.
