Solid rubber wheel for yard equipment

This 8-inch solid rubber wheel carries a 400 lb load rating and fits a 5/8 in axle with an offset hub. The steel hub measures 2 1/4 in long and the wheel width is 2 13/32 in. It suits wheelbarrows and utility carts that need a puncture-proof tyre.

Check axle size and hub offset before ordering

Verify that your equipment uses a 5/8 in axle and that the offset hub position matches the existing wheel mounting. Confirm the 2 13/32 in wheel width clears the fork or frame. The rim is a standard 8x 2.5 type and the wheel is not non-marking.

Thermals noise and power draw in normal use

As a passive solid rubber wheel it generates no heat, draws no power and produces no mechanical noise during operation. The ribbed tread provides traction on pavement and gravel without the maintenance of pneumatic tyres. California Proposition 65 warnings apply to this product.

Questions about this item

Does the wheel arrive ready to fit on a 5/8 in axle or do I need extra hardware?

The hub is bored for a 5/8 in axle and measures 2 1/4 in long, so it slides on directly; no additional bearings or spacers are included.

Should I choose the 8 in diameter or a different size for a 400 lb load rating?

This model is the 8 in diameter version rated at 400 lb; other diameters carry different ratings and are separate listings.

What does the 400 lb rating mean when the wheel is on a loaded cart?

It indicates the maximum vertical load the solid rubber tyre and steel hub can support without permanent deformation.
