Standard-Duty Polyethylene Tarp

This blue polyethylene tarp is built for general-purpose covering and protection. The finished dimensions measure 11 ft 4 in by 15 ft 6 in with a 5.1 mil thickness. It suits homeowners, landscapers and contractors needing a reliable waterproof barrier for equipment, firewood or temporary shelter.

Heat-Sealed Seams and Aluminium Grommets

Heat-sealed seams and rope-reinforced edges help the sheet resist tearing under wind load. Aluminium grommets spaced every 36 in provide secure tie-down points without rust staining. The material is mildew resistant, UV resistant and fully waterproof for extended outdoor exposure.

Lightweight Fabric for Easy Handling

At 3.4 oz per square yard the tarp remains light enough for one person to position and fold. No breathable membrane is included, so moisture trapped underneath will not escape. The standard-duty rating means it is not intended for heavy industrial abrasion or permanent roofing applications.

Questions about this item

How do I secure the tarp using the grommets and rope-reinforced edges?

Thread tie-downs through the aluminum grommets spaced 36 in apart along the rope-reinforced perimeter; pull evenly so the heat-sealed seams share the load instead of concentrating stress on a single corner.

What upkeep does the polyethylene material need over time?

Rinse off dirt and let the 5.1 mil blue sheet dry before folding; the mildew-resistant coating reduces growth, but UV resistance only slows degradation — expect to replace the tarp once the fabric weight of 3.4 oz/sq yd feels noticeably thinner.

At what point does the standard-duty construction show its limit during continuous outdoor exposure?

The 11 ft 4 in by 15 ft 6 in finished size relies on heat-sealed seams and 36 in grommet spacing; under constant sun and wind the polyethylene will embrittle first, causing seam splits or grommet tear-out before the waterproof layer fails.
