Standard Duty Tarp 12 x 20 ft

The Value Brand Standard Duty Tarp measures 12 by 20 feet with a 10 mil polyethylene construction. Brass grommets are spaced every 24 inches along the reinforced edges. It is designed for general-purpose covering and temporary shelter applications.

10 mil polyethylene thickness

The 10 mil thickness determines the tarp’s resistance to tearing and puncturing under standard duty conditions. Thinner tarps may fail faster when dragged over rough surfaces or loaded with debris. This gauge balances durability with manageable weight for manual handling.

UV and mildew resistance under sustained exposure

The material resists UV degradation and mildew growth during prolonged outdoor use. Single-stitched seams and web reinforcement hold shape when the tarp remains tensioned over time. It is not waterproof, so pooling water will pass through the fabric.

Questions about this item

What coverage does the 12 x 20 ft finished size give once the tarp is laid out?

The tarp finishes at 12 ft wide by 20 ft long, providing a rectangular sheet that covers that full footprint when spread flat.

What does the 10 mil thickness cap in practice?

At 10 mil thick with a 5.8 oz/sq yd fabric weight, the polyethylene sheet rates as standard duty — mildew, tear and UV resistant, but not water resistant or waterproof.

What does the 24 in grommet spacing require for tie-down points?

Brass grommets are placed every 24 in along the reinforced hem, so ropes or bungees need anchor points spaced to match that interval.
