Tarp dimensions and duty rating

This standard duty tarp measures 19 ft by 19 ft 6 in finished size with a 5.1 mil thickness. It is made from polyethylene material weighing 3.4 oz per square yard. The blue cover is designed for general purpose protection and coverage.

Reinforced edges and grommet spacing

Heat sealed seams and rope reinforced edges add strength against tearing. Aluminium grommets are spaced every 36 inches along the perimeter for secure tie down points. The construction resists mildew and UV exposure for outdoor durability.

Waterproof performance and handling

The tarp is fully waterproof and not breathable so moisture stays on the surface. At the given fabric weight the cover remains manageable for one person to position and secure. It suits buyers needing a lightweight waterproof sheet rather than a heavy duty industrial grade tarp.

Questions about this item

How often should I check the aluminum grommets and heat-sealed seams for wear?

Inspect the aluminum grommets and heat-sealed seams each season; replace the tarp if grommets pull through or seams separate.

Will the 5.1 mil polyethylene start to tear first under constant wind and sun?

The 5.1 mil polyethylene with tear-resistant coating typically shows UV degradation before the material tears outright.

Does the 3.4 oz/sq yd fabric get hot or noisy when left in direct sunlight all day?

The polyethylene surface absorbs heat in full sun and can flap loudly in wind, but it does not generate its own heat or noise.
