Swivel Plate Caster 175 lb

This NSF-listed swivel plate caster supports a 175 lb load rating and uses a polyolefin wheel on a plastic core. The 2-1/2 inch diameter wheel is non-marking and designed for wheelbarrows, carts and similar yard equipment.

Polyolefin wheel material and non-marking tread

The polyolefin tread resists chemicals and moisture while preventing floor marks during indoor or outdoor use. No brake or swivel lock is included, so the caster rolls and swivels freely at all times.

Plate mounting with no brake or lock hardware

Installation requires bolting the top plate to the equipment frame using the existing hole pattern. The absence of a brake or swivel lock means the wheel cannot be immobilised on slopes, so users must secure the cart by other means.

Questions about this item

Will the polyolefin wheel need replacing after heavy yard use?

The polyolefin wheel is non-marking and resists flat-spotting, so it typically lasts through many loads up to the 175 lb rating before wear requires a swap.

What stops the caster from rolling smoothly when fully loaded all day?

The 175 lb load rating is the first limit; exceeding it increases rolling resistance and can deform the plastic core.

Does the caster get hot or noisy during continuous operation?

Polyolefin on plastic runs quietly and stays cool; with no brake or lock fitted there is no extra friction to generate heat or noise.
