Value Brand Swivel Plate Caster Poly 2 in 100 lb

Swivel Plate Caster for Light Loads

This Value Brand swivel plate caster uses a 2 inch polyolefin wheel rated for 100 lb. It fits wheelbarrows, carts and similar equipment that need a single non‑marking wheel with a side pedal brake. The plastic core keeps the assembly light while the standard plate mounts to most flat surfaces.

Load Limit and Brake Practicality

The 100 lb capacity sets a firm ceiling; any combined weight above that will deform the wheel or overload the swivel race. The side pedal brake locks wheel rotation only and does not prevent the caster from swivelling, so the cart can still pivot under load. Polyolefin tread resists flat‑spotting but offers less cushion on rough ground than rubber alternatives.

Upgrade From Fixed or Unbraked Wheels

This caster replaces a fixed wheel or an unbraked swivel when you need both steering and a positive lock on gentle slopes. The jump is worth it if the current setup drifts on inclines or cannot turn in tight aisles. It is not for buyers who want higher load ratings, larger diameters for rough terrain or a total‑lock brake that also freezes the swivel.
