Swivel Plate Caster for Carts

This 4-inch polyurethane wheel mounts on a swivel plate and carries a 250 lb load rating. It is built for wheelbarrows, utility carts and similar yard equipment that need a single non-marking caster. The polyolefin core and standard tread shape keep rolling resistance low on hard surfaces.

No Brake or Swivel Lock Included

The caster ships without a brake mechanism or a swivel-lock option, so the wheel rotates and pivots freely at all times. Installers must add external stops or choose a different model if the application requires locking in one direction or preventing roll-away on slopes.

Load Rating Decides Fit

The 250 lb capacity per caster is the figure that determines whether this part suits the cart or barrow being repaired. Exceeding that limit risks wheel deformation or premature bearing wear, so buyers should match the rating to the fully loaded weight of their equipment.

Questions about this item

Does the polyurethane tread or the polyolefin core wear out first under heavy cart use?

The polyurethane tread handles ground contact and will show wear before the internal polyolefin core.

What load limit is reached before the swivel mechanism binds during sustained pushing?

The 250 lb load rating is the limit; exceeding it can cause the swivel to bind or the plate to flex.

How much heat builds up in the wheel bearings when the caster runs all day on concrete?

The polyurethane tread and polyolefin core run cool under normal loads; no significant bearing heat is expected at or below 250 lb.
