Heavy-Duty Swivel Plate Caster

This 8-inch rubber swivel plate caster supports a 675 lb load rating for wheelbarrows, carts and other yard equipment. The polyolefin core with rubber tread rolls smoothly and is non-marking on hard surfaces. A green fiberglass finish adds corrosion resistance for outdoor use. It arrives new and ready to mount.

No Lock or Brake Included

The unit ships without a swivel lock or wheel brake, so the caster rotates freely and cannot be locked in a fixed direction or held stationary. Buyers who need directional control or a parking brake must add those components separately. California Proposition 65 warnings apply for cancer and reproductive-harm chemicals present in the materials.

Simple Plate Mounting

Four bolt holes in the top plate let you fasten the caster to a wooden or metal frame with standard hardware. No specialised tools are required beyond a wrench or socket set. Misaligned holes or undersized bolts are the most common installation issues, so verify the mounting pattern before drilling.

Questions about this item

How often should the rubber tread on this 8 in caster be inspected for wear?

Inspect the rubber tread periodically; replace the caster when the tread is worn down enough to reduce the 675 lb load rating or when cracks appear.

What is the maximum continuous load this caster can handle before the wheel core may deform?

The polyolefin core supports the rated 675 lb; sustained loads at or above that limit can lead to permanent deformation.

Does the rubber wheel generate noticeable heat or noise during all-day operation?

The rubber tread runs quietly and stays cool under normal loads; no brake or lock mechanism adds friction or noise.
