Swivel Stem Caster 125 lb Load Rating

This swivel stem caster supports a 125 lb load rating and is built for wheelbarrows, carts and similar yard equipment. A 5 in rubber wheel provides smooth rolling on outdoor surfaces. The zinc-plated steel frame resists corrosion during regular use.

Rubber Wheel and Plain Bearing Change

The rubber tread absorbs vibration and reduces noise on gravel or pavement compared with harder wheel materials. A plain bearing keeps the mechanism simple and requires no lubrication schedule. The wheel is not non-marking, so it may leave traces on light-coloured floors.

Stem Mount Installation Details

The caster mounts via a 3/4 in by 2-1/16 in square stem that fits matching sockets on the equipment frame. Mounting height reaches 5 27/32 in once installed. Ensure the stem seats fully and the swivel rotates freely before loading; misalignment is the most common cause of premature wear.

Questions about this item

How often will the rubber wheel need replacing on a 5 in caster rated at 125 lb?

The rubber tread on a 5 in wheel will wear faster on rough surfaces; inspect monthly and replace when the tread depth is visibly reduced or the wheel develops flat spots.

What is the first limit reached when this 125 lb swivel stem caster runs continuously under load?

The 125 lb load rating is the primary limit; exceeding it causes premature wheel deformation and stem stress, so sustained use should stay at or below that figure.

Does the steel frame with zinc plating get hot or noisy during all‑day operation?

The plain‑bearing steel frame runs quietly at low speeds; heat build‑up is minimal because the 1 in wide rubber wheel absorbs vibration rather than transferring it to the frame.
