12-piece basalt hot stone set

The Royal Massage set contains twelve flat basalt stones selected for their high iron and silica content. Each stone measures approximately 3.5 in by 2.75 in by 0.4 in and the full kit weighs 3.0000 lbs. The uniform medium size suits back, leg and large muscle group work for both novice and experienced therapists.

Heat retention limits of volcanic rock

Basalt holds heat longer than many alternative stones, yet it still cools during extended sessions. Therapists must reheat or rotate stones to maintain consistent temperature, especially when treating multiple areas in sequence. The flat profile distributes warmth evenly but offers less contact pressure than contoured shapes.

Simple preparation with common pitfalls

Stones heat in a professional warmer or slow cooker; always test temperature on the therapist's forearm before client contact. Overheating causes burns, while insufficient heat reduces therapeutic effect. Oil absorption can make surfaces slippery, so wipe stones between placements and store dry to prevent cracking.

Questions about this item

How many stones are in the set and what size are they?

The set contains 12 flat basalt stones, each measuring approximately 3.5 in by 2.75 in by 0.4 in.

What does the 3.5-inch dimension mean for treating large muscle groups?

At 3.5 inches long, each stone covers broad areas like the back and legs, allowing deep, even heat to penetrate tissue with fewer repositionings.

What material are the stones made from and how does it affect heat retention?

They are hand-picked natural volcanic basalt with high iron and silica content, so they hold heat longer than other rocks and reduce the need to swap stones mid-session.
