Auracast Transmitter for Hearing Aids

The Vantrue ATDG-C82 is a USB-C Bluetooth 5.4 transmitter built exclusively for Auracast-enabled hearing aids. It streams audio from PCs, tablets and smartphones that output sound through a USB-C port. The device weighs 2 grams and measures 17 mm by 21 mm by 7 mm.

Private or Open Broadcast Modes

This transmitter suits hearing-aid users who want to receive Auracast broadcasts in Private mode with password protection or Open mode for public listening; modes are switched through the Avantree Updater on a PC. It does not support classic Bluetooth headphones, speakers, earbuds or LE Audio unicast devices, so buyers needing those connections should look elsewhere. Compatibility is limited to the specific hearing-aid models listed by the manufacturer.

Simple USB-C Plug-In Setup

Installation is a matter of inserting the dongle into a USB-C audio source; no driver installation is required for basic operation. Firmware upgrades are available from the Avantree website if needed. The unit only works with devices that actually output audio via USB-C — TVs, cars and game consoles are not supported even if they have a USB-C port. Operating range reaches up to 100 ft (30 m) with latency between 50 and 80 ms.
