Coastal Wall Lantern for Wet-Rated Exteriors

The Vaxcel OW21881TB Chatham is a single-light outdoor wall lantern built for covered porches, entryways and garages. Its coastal styling uses weather-resistant steel with clear seeded glass to suit traditional nautical aesthetics. The fixture carries UL and C-UL listings for product safety compliance. It is rated for wet locations where direct water exposure occurs.

Sustained Outdoor Exposure and Bulb Heat

Weather-resistant steel construction is intended to withstand long-term moisture, salt air and temperature cycling without structural degradation. The open-bottom design allows rising heat from a 60 watt E26 bulb to escape, reducing thermal stress on the glass and finish during extended evening use. Clear seeded glass maintains light transmission over time rather than yellowing or clouding under continuous UV exposure.

E26 Medium Base Socket and 60 Watt Limit

The lantern accepts one standard E26 medium-base bulb up to 60 watts, compatible with LED, incandescent or vintage Edison-style filament lamps. No integrated ballast, driver or smart-module is present; the circuit is a direct wired connection to the supply. Wet-location listing applies only when the fixture is mounted with the supplied gasket and wired to a grounded circuit protected by a GFCI device.

What wiring or mounting hardware do I need to install this coastal wall lantern?

The unit is UL and C-UL listed for wet locations and mounts to a standard exterior junction box; supply wiring and box are not included.

Will the clear seeded glass and black steel finish match older brass or bronze fixtures on the same porch?

The Chatham uses a black coastal finish with clear seeded glass, creating a neutral nautical look that pairs with a variety of existing metal tones.
