Colonial-inspired wall lantern for home exteriors

The Vaxcel Lexington fixture brings carriage-house style to porches, entryways and garage walls. Its textured black steel frame and tapered clear glass panels create a traditional silhouette that suits period and modern homes alike. The open-bottom design allows quick bulb changes without tools. Wet-rated construction makes it safe for exposed outdoor locations.

Dusk-to-dawn photocell manages power automatically

A built-in photo cell switches the lantern on at night and off at daylight, removing the need for manual timers or switches. The fixture accepts three 60 watt E12 candelabra-base bulbs and is compatible with LED equivalents for lower energy draw. ETL listing confirms compliance with recognised safety standards. No additional wiring accessories are required beyond standard household supply.

Weather-resistant steel

The steel housing resists corrosion while the clear glass panels maintain bright light transmission over time. A curved metal handle reinforces the lantern aesthetic and provides a secure grip during installation. Mounting hardware and an instruction manual are included for straightforward wall attachment. Dimensions are 9.5-in W x 17.25-in H x 9.5-in D.

Questions about this item

How is the wall lantern mounted and which step is often missed?

The lantern includes mounting hardware and a manual; the step often missed is wiring the built-in dusk-to-dawn photocell to the supply circuit so it can switch the three E12 sockets automatically.

What maintenance will the fixture need over time?

Replace the three 60-watt E12 candelabra bulbs when they fail; the open-bottom design allows quick access without tools, and the clear glass panels can be wiped clean to maintain brightness.

What limit appears first during continuous overnight operation?

The photocell turns the lantern off at dawn, so the practical limit is the 60-watt-per-socket rating — exceeding it risks overheating the weather-resistant steel housing and ETL-listed wiring.
