Product and Purpose

The Vaxcel T0553 Medinah is a single-light outdoor wall lantern with a dusk-to-dawn photocell. It suits homeowners who want automatic illumination for covered porches, entryways or garages. The clear glass panes and textured white frame provide a classic look. Wet-rated construction allows use in exposed locations.

Installation Requirements

Verify that the mounting surface can support the fixture and that a standard junction box is present. The unit requires one 60 watt E26 medium-base bulb, which is not supplied. LED equivalents are compatible. Wiring must comply with local codes for wet-rated fixtures.

Thermals Noise and Power

The lantern draws up to 60 watts from the installed bulb and operates silently. The open-bottom design allows heat to escape during normal use. The photocell eliminates daytime power draw by switching the light off automatically. ETL listing confirms the product meets safety standards.

Questions about this item

Does the lantern come with the E26 bulb or must I buy it separately?

The fixture uses one 60 watt E26 medium-base bulb which is not included; mounting hardware and an instruction manual are supplied in the box.

Should I choose the 60 watt incandescent option or an LED equivalent for the E26 socket?

The socket accepts any E26 medium-base lamp up to 60 watts; an LED replacement with the same base will work and uses less power.

How does the dusk-to-dawn photocell behave once the lantern is mounted on the wall?

The built-in photocell switches the light on automatically at night and off at daylight, providing illumination only when needed.
