Farmhouse Pendant for Modern Spaces

The Vaxcel W0378 Akron is a 38-in wide farmhouse pendant finished in satin nickel. Its sleek metal goose-neck shades feature matte white interiors designed for optimal light output. The fixture suits modern farmhouse, craftsman, antique and transitional decors. It mounts as a wall sconce with a 7.28-in W x 4.92-in H backplate.

Verify Wiring and Bulb Choice Before Installing

Confirm the junction box can support the fixture weight and aligns with the backplate dimensions. The unit requires four 60 watt E26 medium base bulbs, which are not supplied. It accepts LED, vintage Edison clear filament or halogen bulbs. Dimming works only when both the bulbs and a compatible wall switch dimmer are used.

Steady Output in Damp-Rated Locations

Rated for damp environments, the pendant performs consistently in kitchens, bathrooms, hallways and covered entryways. The matte white shade interiors maintain even light distribution during extended use. Heat from four 60 watt bulbs dissipates through the open goose-neck design without a sealed enclosure. Dimmable bulbs and a dimmer switch allow adjustable levels for sustained comfort.

Questions about this item

Does the 38-in wide Akron pendant arrive with the four 60-watt E26 bulbs I need, or must I purchase them separately?

The fixture uses four 60-watt E26 medium-base bulbs and they are not included; you buy them separately. It works with LED, vintage Edison clear filament, or halogen bulbs.

How do I decide between the satin-nickel finish shown here and any other finish the Akron range might offer?

This model is the satin-nickel version with matte-white shade interiors; other finishes exist in the Akron collection but are separate SKUs not covered by this listing.

What does the 60-watt-per-bulb rating mean once the pendant is installed in my hallway?

Each of the four E26 sockets accepts up to 60 watts, so the fixture can deliver the combined output of four 60-watt bulbs when paired with a compatible dimmer and dimmable bulbs.
