Target system

The Velztorm Gemmix is a pre-built desktop aimed at gamers and creators who want an eight-core Ryzen 7 5700X paired with a Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics card. It ships with 128GB of DDR4 memory and a 2TB PCIe NVMe SSD. Windows 10 Pro is installed and a 750W power supply drives the components.

Wireless limit

The integrated wireless adapter supports 802.11b/g/n only, so maximum link rates are well below modern 802.11ac or ax equipment. Builders who need low-latency or high-throughput wireless should plan for a wired Ethernet connection or an add-in card.

Chassis reality

A 240mm AIO liquid cooler with RGB lighting handles the CPU thermal load inside a black case measuring 10.7 by 16.5 by 15 inches and weighing 32.4lb. Rear I/O provides six USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.2 Type-C Gen2 port, HDMI, DisplayPort and a combo audio jack, but no front-panel USB-C is listed.
