Velztorm Pilum Gaming Desktop

The Velztorm Pilum is a pre-built gaming desktop powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-core processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card. It ships with 16GB of DDR4 memory, a 1TB SATA SSD and a 2TB hard drive. A 750W power supply and a 120mm AIO liquid CPU cooler with RGB lighting are included. Windows 10 Pro is installed and ready to use.

Suits 1080p and 1440p gamers.

This system suits players targeting high refresh rates at 1080p or 1440p resolution with the RTX 3070 and 8GB GDDR6 VRAM. The 8-core Ryzen 7 3700X handles streaming and multitasking alongside gaming. Buyers who want more storage than the 1TB SSD plus 2TB HDD provide should look elsewhere. The 802.11n Wi-Fi may limit users who need faster wireless throughput.

8GB GDDR6 VRAM on the RTX 3070

The graphics card includes 8GB of GDDR6 video memory on a PCIe 4.0 interface with DirectX 12 and G-SYNC support. This VRAM capacity determines the texture quality and resolution ceiling the card can sustain in modern titles. If your workload demands a larger frame buffer for 4K assets or heavy compute tasks, this specification is the limiting factor.

Questions about this item

Does the PCIe 4.0 interface on the RTX 3070 actually run at full x16 bandwidth with the Ryzen 7 3700X?

The Ryzen 7 3700X provides 20 PCIe 4.0 lanes; 16 lanes connect directly to the RTX 3070 so the card operates at full x16 bandwidth.

What clearance does the 120 mm AIO liquid CPU cooler need inside the chassis?

The 120 mm radiator requires a single 120 mm fan mount on the case roof, front or rear; verify the case lists 120 mm radiator support before ordering.

How is the 1 TB SATA SSD installed, and which step is often missed?

Mount the 2.5 inch drive in a 3.5 inch tray or dedicated bay, connect a SATA data cable to the motherboard and a SATA power lead from the 750 W supply; the step often missed is enabling the SATA port in BIOS so Windows sees the volume.
