Macro lens for APS-C Fujifilm X

The Laowa 65mm f/2.8 2X Ultra Macro APO is built exclusively for APS-C mirrorless bodies using the Fujifilm X mount. It covers crop-sensor formats only and is aimed at photographers who need greater-than-life-size reproduction without a full-frame system. Buyers who require full-frame coverage or autofocus should look elsewhere.

2X magnification from infinity to 17 cm

The lens reaches a 2:1 maximum magnification ratio with a minimum focusing distance of 17 cm, exceeding the typical 1.5X ceiling of competing macro optics. It focuses continuously from infinity down to 2X, so a single lens handles both distant subjects and extreme close-ups. At f/2.8 the depth of field becomes very shallow, limiting the usable focus plane at highest magnification.

Compact design optimised for APS-C sharpness

Optimised for APS-C sensors, the optical formula delivers high centre-to-corner detail and contrast across the frame. The 65 mm focal length keeps the package light and manageable for handheld field work. The bundle adds a ProOptic 52mm filter kit, cleaning accessories, a lens-cap tether and software, but the lens itself has no built-in stabilisation or weather sealing.

Questions about this item

Will the 65mm focal length and 2X magnification work on my Fujifilm APS-C body without vignetting?

The lens is designed for Fujifilm X mount APS-C sensors and covers the frame fully at 2X magnification and infinity focus.

How can I confirm the 2:1 macro ratio is actually reached at the 6.7 inch minimum focus distance?

Frame a ruler at the closest focus setting; the image should show half the subject width of a 1:1 macro, confirming 2X life-size reproduction.

Does the bundle include the 52mm filter kit and cleaning accessories, or must I buy them separately?

The bundle ships with the ProOptic 52mm Digital Essentials Filter Kit, a universal lens cap tether, a cleaning kit and a LensPen cleaner included.
