World's Widest Rectilinear Full-Frame Lens

The Venus Optics Laowa 9mm f/5.6 FF RL is a prime wide-angle lens for Sony FE mount full-frame cameras. It delivers a 135-degree angle of view in a compact body measuring 2.4 inches long and weighing 12.3 oz. Optical construction includes two aspherical and two extra-low dispersion elements to control aberrations and distortion.

Ideal for Architecture and Creative Wide Shots

Photographers capturing interiors, expansive landscapes or tight spaces will benefit from the extreme perspective and close focus capability. The lens focuses as close as 4.72 inches from the sensor, enabling ultra-wide macro-style compositions. Shooters who need autofocus, electronic aperture control or a faster maximum aperture for low-light handheld work should consider alternative optics.

Fixed f/5.6 Aperture with 5-Blade Diaphragm

The lens operates at a constant f/5.6 aperture with a 5-blade design that renders 10-point sunstars when stopped down. There is no variable aperture ring and no electronic communication for camera-controlled exposure. Buyers must be comfortable with manual focus and manual exposure management to use this lens effectively.
