Monitor light bar for desk work and gaming

The Verilux PHX009 is a 15.7 inch LED light bar that mounts on a monitor to illuminate the desk surface and project an RGB glow onto the wall behind the screen. It suits home-office users who need accurate colour rendering and gamers who want ambient backlighting without screen glare.

Sustained output with glare-free optics

The front light delivers up to 900 Lux at centre with a CRI 95 rating and an asymmetric optical design that keeps light off the panel during long sessions. It is certified RG0 blue-light-free and flicker-free, while the independent RGB backlight offers 24 modes for ambient effect without adding heat or glare to the workspace.

Tool-free clamp mount with touch controls

The aluminium bar clamps to the top of the monitor in seconds and draws power from a 5 V USB source, so no separate adapter is required. Touch controls on the bar adjust brightness, colour temperature from 3000 K to 6500 K, and RGB modes, and a smart-memory function restores the last setting after power loss. Builders needing a hard-wired installation or a wider bar for ultra-wide screens should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the 5 V power draw of the PHX009 generate noticeable heat after hours of use?

The LED bar runs on 5 V and stays cool to the touch during extended sessions; the aluminum shade dissipates the minimal heat produced.

What does the PHX009 need to operate — does it require a separate power adapter?

It draws power from any 5 V USB port, so a computer, monitor USB hub or standard phone charger is sufficient; no extra adapter is included.

Will the 15.7 inch light bar fit older monitors with thicker bezels or curved screens?

The rectangular 40 cm bar mounts on top of the monitor; its gravity-weighted clip accommodates a range of bezel thicknesses and slight curves.
