17-inch LED accent light

The Verilux SDA001 is a 12 W LED accent light built around a 17-inch rectangular bar. It targets desk workers who want glare-reduced illumination for reading, studying or screen work without a bulky fixture. The unit weighs 1.86951998176 pounds and uses a clamp base for quick attachment to a workbench or table. A 5 V DC supply powers the 7.5 W LED array through an included USB adapter.

Clamp mount and gooseneck positioning

The integrated clamp grips surfaces up to 2 inches thick and includes a silicone pad to prevent scratches. A 360° flexible gooseneck made from silicone and metal lets the bar reach a maximum height of 30 inches, covering monitors from 15 to 29 inches. The neck is rated for 100000 bend cycles. No separate power brick or cable routing is required because the adapter plugs directly into any USB-A port.

Touch control, memory and colour options

Two touch buttons handle on/off, three colour temperatures (3000 K, 4000 K, 6000 K) and continuous dimming from 10 % to 100 %. A power-on memory function restores the last colour and brightness setting. The 45° asymmetrical beam cuts screen glare by 30 % compared with conventional lamps, and the 60 LED units are rated for 90000 hours of operation.

Questions about this item

How hot does the 12 W light bar get after hours of continuous use?

The aluminium housing dissipates heat so the lamp runs cool even during all-day operation, supporting a rated lifespan of 90,000 hours.

What is the fan noise level when the lamp runs all day?

There is no fan; the 12 W LED bar is passively cooled, so operation is completely silent.

Does the clamp base need a separate power brick or can it run from a monitor USB port?

A 5 V USB adapter is included; the lamp draws 7.5 W and can be powered from any standard USB-A port or the supplied adapter.
