Extended Runtime for Critical Loads

The Vertiv PSI5-72VBATT is a 72 V external battery cabinet designed to extend backup time for compatible Liebert UPS units. It targets administrators who need longer ride-through for servers or network gear during utility outages.

Rack Integration and Scalability

The 2U form factor fits standard racks alongside the UPS it supports. Up to six cabinets can be connected to a single PSI5 unit, letting you scale runtime without adding another UPS chassis.

Capacity Limits and Chemistry

Each cabinet delivers 9 Ah of valve-regulated lead-acid energy at 72 V DC. The chemistry requires the batteries to be kept charged to reach their design life, and runtime gains diminish once the maximum of six cabinets is reached.
