High-Strength 8000 LBS Breaking Strength

This double-braided polyester rope delivers a breaking strength of 8000 lbs and a safe working load of 1200 lbs. The 48-strand construction combines a high-strength outer sheath with a twisted inner core. At 1/2 inch diameter and 220 ft long, it is built for demanding outdoor and professional tasks.

Sustained Load Performance

The safe working load of 1200 lbs defines the limit for continuous or repeated tension rather than a single burst. The double-braided design resists fraying and maintains integrity under sustained strain. Flexible handling and reliable knot-holding support consistent performance during extended use.

1200 LBS Safe Working Load Decides Suitability

The safe working load of 1200 lbs is the critical figure for choosing this rope. It determines whether the rope meets the safety margin required for your specific lifting, rigging or rescue application. Exceeding this limit risks failure even though the breaking strength is 8000 lbs.

Questions about this item

Does the 1/2 inch diameter rope generate noticeable friction heat during long rappels?

The polyester construction resists heat build‑up during extended use, and the double‑braided design distributes load evenly to minimise friction on the sheath.

What anchor hardware is needed to reach the 1200 lbs safe working load?

Attach the rope to rated carabiners, slings or anchors that meet or exceed the 1200 lbs / 5.34 kN working load limit.

Will the 48‑strand sheath work smoothly with older figure‑8 descenders?

The 12.7 mm diameter and flexible double‑braid profile feed cleanly through standard figure‑8 and tube‑style devices.
