28-Inch In-Wall Media Enclosure

This steel cabinet recesses into a wall to house routers, switches, streaming boxes and AV receivers. It is designed for installers and homeowners who want a single, lockable location for structured wiring and network distribution equipment.

Capacity and Cable Knockouts

The interior accepts devices up to the full 28-inch height with three 2.36-inch top knockouts, four 1.97-inch knockouts and six 1.57-inch knockouts for cable entry. Two additional reserved knockouts allow outlet boxes, but the fixed 3.66-inch cavity depth limits the thickness of gear that can be mounted.

Cold-Rolled Steel Build and Vented Door

Cold-rolled steel construction provides rigidity and helps dissipate heat from active components. A vented hinged door with a keyed lock secures the contents while allowing airflow, and the flush-mounted frame sits 3.74 inches deep against the finished wall surface.

Questions about this item

Will my existing router and switch fit inside the 28-inch enclosure alongside a streaming device?

The enclosure measures 28.94 x 15.08 x 3.74 inches externally, with a cutout of 28.15 x 14.29 x 3.66 inches, providing ample depth for routers, switches, and streaming devices like Roku or Apple TV.

How can I verify the vented hinged door is promoting proper heat dissipation after installation?

The cold-rolled steel construction and vented door design allow passive airflow; after setup, check that equipment temperatures remain stable and that the door closes flush without obstructing the vents.

Does the package include mounting hardware or outlet boxes for the reserved knockouts?

The box contains one structured media enclosure and one key; mounting screws, outlet boxes, and any additional cable-management accessories must be purchased separately.
