Four-length magnetic level set

This set provides four torpedo levels measuring 10, 16, 24 and 48 inches for layout, framing and finish work. Each level is machined from aluminium alloy with an 8% thicker wall and a double-sided milled base for rigidity. All four bodies are fully magnetic so they cling to steel studs, pipe and ductwork without clamps. Vials read 45, 90 and 180 degrees and include both SAE and metric graduations.

Static handling and readability

The acrylic vials use anti-static bubbles that resist sticking, keeping the meniscus visible under site lighting. Fluorescent vial surrounds improve contrast in dim corners without batteries or electronics. Magnetic bases hold the levels hands-free on vertical steel surfaces, reducing the need for a second person during layout. The aluminium construction adds minimal weight to a tool belt while resisting denting from drops.

Sustained site use

The carrying bag keeps the four lengths together and protects the vial housings from impact during transport between tasks. Aluminium bases maintain flatness after repeated contact with rough sawn lumber and concrete forms. Anti-static vial fluid prevents bubble drift during long level runs, so readings stay consistent from the first stud to the last. The set covers short cabinet checks through to full wall alignments without switching tools.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the 48-inch level to a steel beam and what step is often missed?

Press the full-length magnetic base against clean ferrous metal; the step people skip is wiping off oil or grit so the 1200 mm level seats flat and does not pivot on debris.

What part of the 10/16/24/48 inch set will need replacement first and how can I tell?

The three acrylic vials per level are the wear items; if a bubble sticks, drifts slowly or the fluid clouds, that vial assembly has lost accuracy and the level should be retired.

Which limit appears first when I use the 24-inch level all day on a hot roof?

The aluminum body expands at a different rate than the acrylic vials, so prolonged heat can shift the 45/90/180 degree readings before any other factor.
