This heavy-duty bench vise uses a ductile cast iron body to deliver 6744 lbs of clamping force. The 8-inch jaw width and 360-degree locking swivel base let a metalworker or fabricator position large workpieces from any angle. Two-way jaws provide both forward and reverse clamping for extra versatility. Magnetic jaw pads with pipe-jaw function are included in the package.

Mechanical limits of the jaw and throat

Forward jaw opening reaches 8 inches while reverse opening extends to 11.5 inches, so very wide stock must be clamped in reverse orientation. Throat depth is fixed at 3.7 inches, limiting how far a tall workpiece can sit from the jaw face. Pipe-jaw capacity ranges from 0.59 to 2.36 inches, so pipes outside that diameter cannot be held securely. The four-bolt mounting pattern requires a bench thick enough for M10 hardware.

The 29.96 kN rating determines whether the vise can hold your heaviest milling, welding or assembly jobs without slipping. If your work demands higher force you will need a larger vise; if the force is adequate the 44.24 lb weight and 17.91 x 8.07 x 8.66 inch footprint will fit most standard benches.
