Freestanding Birch Coat Rack with 11 Hooks

This freestanding coat rack is built from birch wood and stands 69.29 inches tall on a 16.5-inch weighted base. It provides 11 hooks arranged in a staggered pattern for organising coats, hats and bags in an entryway, bedroom or living room. The unit weighs 14.77 lbs and assembles with the included hardware and tools.

Hook Capacity and Base Stability Limits

Each hook supports up to 6.6 lbs, giving a combined load limit of 40 lbs across the rack. The weighted wooden base measures 16.5 inches in diameter and 0.6 to 0.8 inches thick, fitted with anti-slip pads to resist tipping when fully loaded. Exceeding the per-hook or total weight ratings will compromise stability.

Upgrading from Wall Hooks or Light Stands

This rack replaces wall-mounted hooks or lightweight stands that cannot hold heavier winter coats or multiple bags. The jump is worthwhile when you need 40 lbs of total capacity without drilling into walls and when a 16.5-inch floor footprint fits the space. It is not suited for buyers who need a smaller profile or a higher total load rating.

Questions about this item

How do I decide which load capacity to rely on — the 6.6 lbs per hook or the 40 lbs total?

Each of the 11 hooks supports up to 6.6 lbs, but the whole rack is rated for 40 lbs combined, so distribute heavier coats across multiple hooks rather than loading one.

What does the 69.29 in height mean for ceiling clearance and reach?

The rack stands 69.29 in tall, so it fits under standard ceilings while keeping the top hook within easy reach for most adults.

How does the 16.5 in weighted base prevent tipping on hard floors?

The 16.5 in diameter birch base weighs 14.77 lbs and includes four anti-slip pads, giving a low centre of gravity that resists tipping even when all 11 hooks are loaded.
