Garage Door Threshold Seal 20 ft

This 20 ft PVC threshold seal creates a weatherproof barrier at the garage door base. It blocks water, rain, snow, dust and leaves to keep the interior clean and dry. The black strip measures 3.5 in wide and .5 in thick for substantial coverage. It suits homeowners seeking a durable DIY solution for garage floor sealing.

Temperature Limits and Surface Adhesion

The PVC material withstands temperatures from -40°F to 284°F without cracking or deforming. It adheres securely to concrete, asphalt, painted or treated surfaces using the included adhesive. A serrated base improves the bond between the strip and sealant or flooring. Anti-slip ridges on the surface reduce slipping risk during entry and exit.

DIY Installation and Common Issues

The strip can be trimmed with a knife if the garage opening is shorter than 20 ft. Installation requires thorough surface cleaning before applying the supplied adhesive for a lasting bond. A yellow warning tip enhances visibility for safer vehicle passage. Failure to remove dust, oil or moisture from the floor often causes the seal to lift prematurely.

Questions about this item

Which length should I choose for a standard single-car garage door?

The strip is supplied as a single 20 ft roll. If your door opening is shorter, you can cut the PVC to the exact length you need with a utility knife.

What does the .5 in thickness do once the seal is fitted under the door?

At 12.7 mm thick, the PVC compresses against the door bottom to close gaps up to roughly half an inch, keeping out water, leaves and cold air down to -40°F.

How does the adhesive supplied with the roll bond to a concrete floor?

Two tubes of adhesive are included; the serrated underside of the strip keys into the glue for a secure hold on clean concrete, asphalt or painted surfaces.
