10-Piece Post Base Kit for 3.5×3.5 in Posts

This kit contains ten zinc-plated carbon steel post bases with a 1 in standoff. Each base has an internal dimension of 3.53 x 3.56 in to fit standard 3.5 x 3.5 in wooden posts. The 1.2 mm wall thickness provides rigid support for pergolas and patios.

Suits Builders Anchoring Multiple Posts to Concrete

The 10-piece quantity covers larger structures like pergolas or deck frames. Included M8 and M4 self-tapping screws plus expansion bolts allow direct concrete mounting. Projects requiring adjustable-height bases or metal post compatibility should look at alternative designs.

Handles Standard 3.5 in Timber with 1 in Clearance

The U-shaped positioning holes align with the 3.53 x 3.56 in internal cavity for a tight timber fit. The 25.4 mm base-to-timber clearance protects wood from ground moisture. The kit does not supply anchors for masonry without pre-drilled holes or hardware for posts larger than 3.5 x 3.5 in.

Questions about this item

What size wooden post do I need to fit the 3.53 x 3.56 inch internal dimensions?

The internal tube fits nominal 3.5 x 3.5 inch timber; actual dressed lumber of that size slides inside the 89.6 x 90.5 mm opening.

Can I use the included M8*60 screws with the 1.2 mm wall thickness brackets on existing concrete?

Yes, the 12*60 expansion bolts anchor into concrete while the M8*60 self-tapping screws secure the bracket through the 1.2 mm steel wall.

How do I confirm the 1 inch standoff is correctly set after installation?

Measure the gap between the concrete and the timber base; it should be 25.4 mm, matching the designed base-to-timber clearance.
