Post bases for 3.5 inch columns

Two carbon-steel post bases accept 3.6 by 3.6 inch inner dimensions and suit 3.5 by 3.5 inch wood columns. Each bracket measures 3.8 by 5.5 by 6.4 inches with a 0.08 inch wall thickness and a powder-coated finish. The pair weighs 4.7 lbs and includes all screws and a thin wrench.

Check column size and drill access

Verify your posts are 3.5 by 3.5 inches so they fit the 3.6 inch inner opening. Ensure you have a drill for the pilot holes and space to drive the supplied self-tapping and Phillips screws. The kit provides 18 Phillips screws, 9 self-tapping screws and 9 serrated sockets for the included hardware.

Powder coating resists corrosion over time

The spray-coated carbon steel protects against rust during long outdoor exposure. The full-wrap structure and 2 mm wall thickness maintain rigidity under constant deck or pavilion loads without wobbling. Hardware remains secure through seasonal temperature changes.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and what fasteners must I supply myself?

The package includes two post bases, 18 Phillips screws, nine self-tapping screws, one thin wrench and nine serrated sockets. You will need to provide your own drill bits and any additional anchors for concrete or masonry mounting.

Which post size matches the 3.6 inch inner dimension?

The 3.6 x 3.6 inch pocket is designed for nominal 3.5 x 3.5 inch lumber, giving a snug fit for standard four-by-four posts.

How does the 0.08 inch wall thickness perform on a loaded deck post?

At 2 mm thick carbon steel with a powder-coated finish, each 4.7 lb bracket resists bending and corrosion under vertical and lateral deck loads.
