Ready-to-Tile Shower Niche

The VEVOR shower niche measures 16 by 32 inches and arrives as a double-shelf unit with square corners. It is designed for wall-inserted installation in showers or bathrooms and requires a tile surface layer before use. The black XPS foam core is HCFC-free and resists decomposition and decay.

Waterproof Substrate Under Daily Use

A triple-layer substrate of XPS extruded foam board, cement mortar and waterproof coating creates a 100 percent sealed barrier. This construction protects the surrounding wall from moisture penetration and maintains a dry, sanitary interior across the operating range of 0 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit. The sealed assembly is built to extend the service life of the wall itself.

Lightweight Build With Mounting Hardware

At 2.1 kilograms the niche is light enough to carry and position without assistance. The package includes ten stainless steel claws with washers, ten stainless steel screws and a 1.18 inch thick crosspiece for structural support. A movable partition allows the double-layer interior to be reconfigured to suit individual storage needs.

Questions about this item

How much power or heat does the XPSNICHE1632 generate when installed in a shower wall?

The niche is a passive XPS foam board with cement mortar and waterproof coating; it produces no heat, draws no power and makes no noise during daily use.

What additional materials must I already have to finish installing this 16 x 32 inch niche?

You need tile, thinset mortar, grout and waterproofing membrane to cover the surface before the niche can be used.

Will the 1.18 inch thick crosspiece and stainless steel claws fit behind existing 2 x 4 stud framing?

The unit measures 4 inches deep overall, so it fits standard 2 x 4 wall cavities; the included 10 claws and screws anchor it to the studs.
