Underbody Truck Box 30x17x18in

This aluminium diamond-plate storage box mounts beneath a pickup, van or trailer to keep tools and gear secure. A T-handle latch with lock and keys restricts access while the hidden hinge protects the mechanism from debris.

Weatherproof Construction

The 0.06 inch (1.5 mm) wall thickness resists dents and corrosion, while the gasketed lid keeps rain and road spray out of the 29.5 x 17.4 inch interior. Net weight is 18 lbs, so the box adds minimal load to the chassis.

66 lb Load Capacity

Rated for 66 lbs (30 kg), the box suits hand tools, straps and recovery gear but not heavy power-equipment kits. Builders who need more payload should look for a higher-rated chest.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the 30x17x18 inch box under my truck and what step is often missed?

Bolt the box through its pre-drilled mounting tabs to the frame rails using Grade 8 hardware; the step often missed is adding a rubber gasket or sealant between the flange and frame to keep water out.

What maintenance will the T-handle latch and lock need over time?

Spray the T-handle latch mechanism and lock cylinder with dry PTFE lubricant every six months to prevent grit buildup and keep the key turning smoothly.

What limit appears first when the box carries a full 66 lb load on rough roads?

The 0.06 inch wall thickness can flex under sustained vibration, so the lid seal is the first thing to check for water intrusion after heavy off-road use.
