Solid Fir Construction

This five-foot porch swing is built from pure fir wood and galvanised steel chains, rated to hold 880 pounds. The frame arrives with pre-drilled holes and a full hardware kit so assembly can be completed with the included wrench and hex key.

Weather-Resistant Finish

Three layers of PU paint protect the white surface from scratches and moisture while the galvanised chains resist rust. A fold-down cup holder in the centre stores drinks without reducing seating space, and the reclined backrest is shaped for knee relief.

Chain Length Defines Mounting Height

The upper chains measure 5.6 feet and the lower pairs 2.8 feet each, so the swing hangs at a fixed distance from the beam. Buyers needing a different drop or a wider seat will need another solution.

Questions about this item

What weight does the 880 lb capacity actually support?

The swing is rated for up to 880 pounds total load across the 55-inch-wide seat, so two or three adults plus cushions stay well within the limit.

What overhead clearance and hardware are needed to hang the 5.6 ft upper chains?

You need a solid beam or joist at least 7 ft high; the kit supplies four safety locks, four M10 nuts and large washers to bolt the 1.7 m upper chains securely.

Which fasteners go where during assembly, and what is the common mistake?

Use the twelve M8×55 mm screws with 24 washers and 12 M8 nuts for the frame, eight M4×45 mm bolts with eight large washers and four M10 nuts for the chain brackets — the step most people miss is tightening the safety locks on each chain after the swing is level.
