5.5 ft Wooden Porch Swing

The VEVOR YQ-117D is a 5.5 ft wooden porch swing built from cedar wood with galvanised steel chains. It supports up to 880 lbs and suits homeowners wanting a durable garden or patio seat. The carbonised brown finish and included cup holders add convenience for outdoor relaxation.

Overhead Structure and Clearance

Verify that your mounting point can bear the 880 lb load plus the swing’s own 37.5 lb weight. You need enough vertical space for the 5.6 ft upper chains and 2.8 ft lower chains, plus the 23.6 in overall height. Two adults and basic tools are required for the 20-minute assembly using pre-drilled holes.

Weather Resistance and Maintenance

Three layers of PU paint protect the cedar from rain and scratches while the galvanised chains resist rust. The smooth coated surface stays cool in sun and drains water quickly. No mechanical parts generate noise; only the chains move gently during use, requiring no power supply.

Questions about this item

Does the box include everything needed to hang the swing, or must I buy extra hardware?

The package contains the swing, four safety locks, two chain sections measuring 2.8 ft and 5.6 ft, plus 12 M8×55 mm screws, 24 washers, 12 M8 nuts, eight M4×45 mm bolts, eight M4×35 mm screws, eight large washers, four M10 nuts, an open-end wrench and a hex key — all mounting hardware is supplied.

Which chain length should I use for a standard porch ceiling height?

The kit provides an upper S-hook chain of 5.6 ft and two lower chains of 2.8 ft each; choose the combination that gives the desired seat height — typically the longer upper chain plus one lower chain per side works for ceilings around 8–9 ft.

What does the 880 lb rating mean when the swing is actually installed?

The 880 lb capacity is the maximum static load the fir wood frame and galvanized steel chains are tested to support when correctly mounted with all four safety locks engaged and the supplied hardware tightened to the pre-drilled holes.
