Vic Firth Extreme 5A American Classic Hickory Drumsticks Wood Tip Pair

Vic Firth Extreme 5A Hickory Drumsticks

These professional-grade drumsticks are crafted from select American hickory for minimal flex and pronounced resonance. The Extreme 5A model extends the standard 5A length to provide extra reach and leverage around the kit. A deeply back-cut wood tip intensifies cymbal response for a richer, more vibrant articulation. They are built for drummers who demand durability and a robust, traditional sound.

Suited for players needing extended reach and power

The added length and hickory density suit drummers who play heavier styles or require more volume and projection from a 5A diameter. The comfortable grip supports extended sessions without excessive fatigue. Drummers who prefer a shorter stick for faster, intricate patterns or a lighter touch should consider a standard-length model. Those seeking synthetic materials or nylon tips for brighter cymbal tones will need a different specification.

Extra length defines the Extreme 5A

The defining specification is the extended length compared to a standard 5A, which shifts the balance point and increases leverage. This single change delivers the additional reach and power that characterises the Extreme series. If your playing style relies on the standard 5A balance point for control and speed, the extra length will alter the feel significantly. Choose this pair specifically when reach and power are the priority over the classic 5A balance.
