Direct Replacement Lamp

The ViewSonic PJ880 projector lamp ships as a fully assembled 120 W P-VIP bulb inside its housing, so it fits the designated projector without extra assembly. It is intended for owners of compatible ViewSonic models who need a new light source that matches the original specifications.

Rated Lamp Life

In normal mode the lamp is rated for 2000 hours of operation, while economy mode extends the rating to 3000 hours. Brightness will gradually decline as those limits approach, and the projector will eventually require another replacement module to maintain usable image output.

P-VIP Lamp Constraints

The P-VIP 120 W design sets fixed electrical and thermal requirements that the host projector must meet, so the lamp cannot be used in units specified for different wattages or lamp types. It also lacks the longer lifespans or instant on-off behaviour found in solid-state light engines.
