ViewSonic RLC-009 156W Projector Lamp

The ViewSonic RLC-009 is a 156 watt replacement projector lamp module supplied as a fully assembled bulb and housing. It is designed for users who need a direct replacement lamp for compatible ViewSonic projectors and want a ready-to-install unit. The lamp uses a P-VIP bulb and is manufactured to ISO9001 standards with quality checks for beam performance, ignition, voltage, appearance, connections and run-time. Buyers receive a new lamp module that fits the original housing without extra assembly.

Verify projector model

Confirm that your ViewSonic projector accepts the RLC-009 part number before purchase. The supplier notes that four versions of this lamp may be stocked, including three OEM variants and one compatible version built with genuine OEM parts. Each version is tested to the same quality standards, but the specific bulb manufacturer may differ depending on availability. Ensure the lamp connector and physical dimensions match the module you are replacing to avoid installation issues.

Rated 2,000 hours normal

Under sustained use the lamp is rated for 2,000 hours in normal mode and up to 3,000 hours when the projector runs in economy mode. These figures reflect continuous operation rather than short bursts, so brightness and colour stability are maintained across the rated lifespan when the projector cooling system functions correctly. The lamp is not suited for users who require longer rated life or higher wattage output than 156 watts.

Questions about this item

Does the RLC-009 include the housing or just the bare bulb?

The module ships as a fully assembled 156W P-VIP bulb inside its housing, so no separate cage or tools are required for installation.

How do I choose between the OEM and compatible versions of the RLC-009?

All four versions meet ISO9001 quality checks; the OEM units come from Philips, Osram, Ushio, Phoenix, Iwasaki or Matsushita, while the compatible uses genuine OEM parts at a lower cost.

What does the 2,000-to-3,000-hour rating mean for daily classroom use?

In Normal mode expect about 2,000 hours; switching to Economy extends it to 3,000 hours, giving roughly three to four school years at six hours per day.
