Conference camera for medium to large rooms

The ViewSonic VB-CAM-201 is a 4K video conferencing device built for medium to large meeting spaces. It uses an 8.51 megapixel Sony sensor with a 120 degree diagonal field of view to capture everyone at the table. A 5x digital zoom and pan/tilt range of +/-15 degrees keep the active speaker in frame. Wired connectivity ensures a stable link during calls.

Thermals noise and power

The unit draws power from an external 12 volt 2 amp AC adapter, so no internal fan is required for cooling. Silent operation is maintained throughout a meeting because the design relies on passive heat dissipation. The beamforming microphone array picks up voices from up to 20 feet away while suppressing background noise and echo. An integrated 8 watt speaker delivers clear audio output for all participants.

120 degree lens with 5x zoom

The fixed 120 degree diagonal lens covers wide rooms without mechanical movement, while 5x digital zoom narrows the view on the presenter. Buyers needing optical zoom or a narrower field of view for small huddle spaces should consider other models. The camera connects via HDMI 2.0, USB 2.0 Type-A and USB 3.0 Type-C for direct links to displays or PCs. Mounting hardware supports wall or tabletop placement.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the VB-CAM-201 and which step is often missed?

Mount the camera using the easy-to-mount design on a wall or display, then connect the 12V 2A AC adapter for power; the step often missed is plugging in the external power supply instead of relying on USB power alone.

What maintenance will the VB-CAM-201 need over time?

Wipe the 120° lens and the four-microphone array with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust; no user-replaceable parts or consumables are specified, so no scheduled replacement is required.

What limit appears first during a long meeting with the VB-CAM-201?

The 5x digital zoom reduces image detail when fully extended, and the beamforming microphone covers up to 20ft, so participants beyond that distance may not be heard clearly.
