Replacement Lamp for ViewSonic Projectors

The ViewSonic VS15880 is a new projector lamp module that combines a 190 W Osram P-VIP bulb with its housing. It is built for owners of compatible ViewSonic projectors who need a ready-to-fit replacement when the original lamp reaches end of life.

Upgrading from a Worn or Dim Lamp

The module replaces an ageing lamp that has lost brightness or exceeded its rated hours. A swap is worth it when image quality drops noticeably or the projector warns that the lamp timer has passed 5 000 hours in normal mode or 10 000 hours in economy mode.

Simple Module Installation

Because the bulb comes pre-assembled in the housing, installation only requires opening the projector’s lamp door, removing the old module and sliding the new one into place. The most common issues are forgetting to reset the lamp timer after fitting the module and not seating the connector firmly, which can prevent the projector from recognising the new lamp.

Questions about this item

Which projector models accept the VS15880 lamp module with the RLC-092 housing?

The VS15880 lamp module uses the RLC-092 housing and is designed as a direct replacement for compatible ViewSonic projectors that specify this part number.

What is the correct sequence to reset the lamp timer after installing the 190 W P-VIP bulb?

After fitting the new lamp, power on the projector, open the on-screen menu, navigate to the lamp settings and select the reset option so the 5,000-hour normal or 10,000-hour economy counter restarts from zero.

When should the VS15880 lamp be replaced based on the rated 5,000-hour normal life?

Plan replacement when the projector's lamp-hour counter approaches 5,000 hours in normal mode or 10,000 hours in economy mode, as brightness and colour accuracy will decline beyond those limits.
