Boosts talk battery to 40 V DC and 26 mA for line-powered devices such as hands-free phones and door boxes while passing ringing, caller ID and hook-flash signals
The Viking Electronics VK-TBB-1B provides a 40V DC talk battery and up to 26mA loop current to line-powered equipment. It supports handsfree phones, touch-tone hot-line diallers and digital announcers. The unit extends the maximum loop length on analog PABX or KSU stations and works with wireless doorbox devices. It is not compatible with pulse or rotary dialling systems.
Under continuous operation the booster maintains a nominal 26mA loop current and 40V DC talk battery to the connected device. It passes original ringing, caller ID data, hook-switch flash and CPC signals without interruption. The 120V AC to 12V DC 500mA UL-listed adapter supplies steady power for extended use. Performance stays consistent within the specified environmental range.
The device operates reliably from 0°C to 32°C with 5% to 95% non-condensing humidity. Its compact 76mm by 112mm by 36mm enclosure dissipates heat passively with no moving parts. Power draw is limited to the included 12V DC 500mA adapter, keeping energy use low during normal operation. The power LED indicates both supply status and line activity.

The unit draws 500 mA at 12 V DC from the included UL-listed adapter, so continuous power consumption is about 6 watts with minimal heat in the 0 °C to 32 °C operating range.
You need a 120 V AC outlet for the supplied 12 V DC 500 mA adapter and an analog line-powered device such as a hands-free phone, touch-tone hot-line dialer or digital announcer to connect to the four screw terminals.
No, the booster is not compatible with pulse or rotary dialing; it only supports touch-tone dialing while passing ringing, caller ID, hook-switch flash and CPC signals through to the connected device.
