Weather-resistant door speaker

The Viking VK-W-1000 is a flush-mount unit built for outdoor installations and public spaces. It includes a specially designed electrical box and a call button for voice control. The speaker resists weather and vandalism in exposed locations. It will not fit a standard double-gang electrical box.

Thermals noise and power draw

The speaker operates passively without active cooling or moving parts. No fan noise or electrical hum is generated during normal use. Power consumption is negligible for a passive audio device. The unit adds no measurable thermal load to the installation environment.

Specially designed electrical box

The included electrical box is required for mounting and will not accept a standard double-gang box. Installers must use the supplied enclosure to ensure proper fit and weather sealing. This constraint determines whether the speaker suits the planned opening. Buyers who need a drop-in replacement for an existing double-gang box cannot use this model.

Questions about this item

How is the VK-W-1000 flush-mounted, and what electrical-box mistake do installers make?

The unit requires its specially designed electrical box; it will not fit a standard double-gang box, so using the wrong box is the common error.

What maintenance or replacement will the VK-W-1000 need over time?

The included call button is the primary wear item; plan to replace it if the switch mechanism degrades from repeated outdoor use.

What limit appears first during sustained outdoor operation of the VK-W-1000?

Continuous exposure to moisture and temperature cycles can degrade the weather-resistant seals before the speaker driver itself fails.
