Dual-PC USB sharing switch

The Vision ZH281-3.5M lets two computers share one USB 2.0 device such as a printer, scanner, keyboard or mouse without unplugging cables. A single button toggles control between the connected PCs. The 3.5 metre cable length gives flexibility for extended workstations or shared office desks. It draws 5 VDC directly from the USB ports so no external power supply is needed.

Plug-and-play convenience

No drivers or software installation are required on Windows, Mac or Linux systems. The switch operates instantly when connected, changing the active computer with a press of the button. USB 2.0 transmission runs at up to 480 Mbps for smooth data flow with office peripherals and storage devices. Reinforced connectors and a flexible PVC jacket resist bending and tangling during daily use.

Compatibility check

Verify that each computer has an available USB Type-A port and that the target device uses a USB Type-B connection. The switch supports USB 2.0 speeds only; devices requiring USB 3.0 or higher bandwidth will operate at the lower rate. Ensure the 3.5 metre cable reaches both PCs from the shared device location. Buyers who need to share a device across more than two computers cannot use this switch.

Questions about this item

Does the 3.5 m USB 2.0 cable need periodic replacement?

The reinforced connectors and PVC jacket are built for long-term use; no scheduled cable replacement is required.

What limits sustained sharing between the two PCs?

USB 2.0 tops out at 480 Mbps, so heavy simultaneous transfers will hit that bandwidth ceiling first.

How much heat or noise does the splitter produce during all-day operation?

It draws only 5 V DC with no fan or active electronics, so it runs silent and stays cool.
