What this cable does

The VisionTek 900661 is a 3 ft HDMI cable with male-to-male connectors, built to carry uncompressed digital video and audio between two HDMI ports. RFI and EMI shielding protects signal integrity, and the 5 Gbps bandwidth handles stereo or multi-channel sound. It is a straightforward link for displays, projectors or AV receivers.

Who it suits and who it does not

This length works for devices that sit close together on a desk or in a rack. Installers needing longer runs, in-wall ratings or higher bandwidth specifications should look at other cables. Buyers who require angled connectors or a different jacket colour will need a different model.

The spec that decides fit

The cable provides 5 Gbps transfer rates with male-to-male HDMI-A ends. If your equipment demands a higher data rate or a different connector gender, this is not the correct part.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 3 ft length or a longer cable for my setup?

The 3 ft length works well for devices sitting side by side, such as a monitor on a desk or a console under a TV; longer runs need a longer cable to avoid tension.

What does the 5 Gbps transfer rate mean when I plug this cable in?

It provides enough bandwidth for 1080p high-definition video and multi-channel audio without compression, so movies and games play smoothly.

How does the HDMI male-to-male interface limit what I can connect?

Both ends are standard HDMI-A plugs, so the cable links any two devices with full-size HDMI ports — laptops, players, displays — but will not fit mini or micro HDMI sockets directly.
